Last month our nursery informed us they wanted a SEN assessment for our 3.5 year old ds.
They said he was a very bright, confident and happy boy but preferred being with the adults to the children. That he retreats when in groups with his peers and does not display reciprocal speech with his peers but he does with the educators.
I have seen him play with many kids outside of nursery and initiate play, ask questions and speak back and forth. I feel he is being misunderstood but also appreciate their experience and comments.
Can I ask if anyone else's DC was like this and what the outcome was.
