School not following EHCP

How difficult is it for a school to follow an EHCP?

DC is in Yr 8, EHCP says "...will be given copies of notes from all lessons and presentations".

I have chased the SENCo several times and he says he is chasing this up. I feel like I need to send a weekly email asking for updates on various other issues too.

Do I email subject teachers snd ask them directly?

Yes email teachers directly to cut out the middle man.

Remind the school the EHCP is a legal document. Also email the LA because it is them who is ultimately responsible ensuring the provision detailed, specified and quantified F is provided. If the provision detailed, specified and quantified in F continues to not be provided email the Director of Children’s Services threatening judicial review. Then, if that doesn’t work contact SOSSEN for help with a pre-action letter. However, only provision that is detailed, specified and qualified can be enforced. The school must make their best endeavours to meet a pupil’s SEN and, depending on specifics, to ignore the EHCP may constitute disability discrimination.

It shouldn't be but it is really difficult in secondary because of the vast amount of teachers involved and add in staff sickness, supply or cover teachers, other urgent priorities. Question: do the notes/powerpoints need to be printed? Could your child be given a laptop and have resources shared electronically? I often suggest this as if a teacher forgets, it would take seconds for them to then share it whereas they would have to leave the room to print. I know it's not your child's job but it is the reality in schools atm. You can also get apps on laptops now that read aloud or scribe for you etc incase they had any other cognition needs.
