I have a five year old DS with ASD. The only thing that's helped us so far is the Son Rises program.

Does anyone have anything else that really helped their child?

Getting an excellent EHCP which includes therapies (SALT, OT, MH therapies).
Sensory equipment at home.
Exercise, sports clubs and Scouts - he goes to scouts and some sports clubs with a PA.

a) Age (development).
b) Detailed medical/clinical documentation of difficulties and the requirement for adults to revise expectations (despite superficial appearances) and clinical presence at some meetings at school.
c) Me caring less about snarky comments from school and listening and respecting DC's tolerances.
d) Reminding HT of obligation to follow statutory guidance and Equality Act.

@Traverseedubosphore Was there a particular age where you saw a lot of development?

'Fraid to say it is well into puberty in our case. But ADHD in the mix too. At this point exec function is definitely improving and there is more self control.
