DLA Renewal

Thanks to anyone who can advise me here, this is the first renewal i’m having to fill out for my 4 year old, she’s being tested for adhd, autism and some sleep issues. she got a two year award of MRC which is due to end on september 6th. i filled in the forms and sent everything in (she’s had referrals to family action, senco, early help and is under springboard) the problem is over the two years she has only ever had two appointments and one telephone appointment so i am really lacking in evidence but if they called the GP or springboard they would get told what i’m telling them. i believe she should get HRC as she has needs both in the day and at night but now i’m worried we will lose it due to lack of evidence from lack of appointments but they blame it on backlogs and long wait lists so i’m at a loss.

You could request copies of the referral letters, via SARs if necessary, and send them on. They may take too long to get/send for the initial renewal, but you will have them in case you need to request a mandatory reconsideration.

@OvertakenByLego thank you for that i never thought of that! Do you know how long mandatory reconsideration is taking lately? i sent the forms in the first time with no evidence as she had only just been referred to springboard and i got an award for her so fingers crossed

Around 4 weeks. Sometimes quicker, sometimes longer, there is no telling, really.
