I am a little confused by what you mean by your child having a dominant left ear. He is deaf in the right ear.

My son's hearing is significantly worst in his right year than his left. (He is mildly deaf in both ears, but his hearing loss in his right hear is 10 dB worst)

We haven't tried a listening programme. I'm put off a bit by the cost and the time involved. There are games that you can do to improve lip reading though. Is that what you mean, or I have completely got the wrong end of the stick.

Thanks really tired.

he is not deaf, but has poor auditory memory, and difficulties concentrating etc particularly in classroom, he has been assessed by bibic and one thing they say is his left ear is dominant. i have looked it up, and theory is that most people are right ear dominant and this makes life easier because apparently right ear links to left side of brain which is where communication is processed. The Listening Programme sounded like it might be useful, with the stuff about the sounds at difference frequencies etc, but i was hoping to find someone who has used it and hear their views before I suggest it to friend. (however since he has just started doing various coordination type exercises, would not be thinking of doing TLP for a few months anyway, just tyring to work out if might be good. (it does sound relatively easy in that after assessement you listen to CDs for 15 mins once or twice a day, and then see what happens...)

if he tries it over summer, i will put outcome on here...
