Ed Psyche Assessment

Have just had a very detailed Ed Psyche Assessment back for ds1. Basically says he has dyslexia, dyspraxia and possibly ADHD. there re lots of strategies for school to adopt (and I am seeing his SENCO next week to discuss) but I a wondering if anyone has any exeperience of home programmes that kids can do to help??

I am Home Educating DS who is also Dyspraxic and i have found that an un-cluttered workspace workd brill. I don't mean not having rubbish on his desk, I mean the whole room has to be plain and free from distracions, no posters on the wall, no pots of brightly coulured pens on the table etc. If the SENCO can arrange for 1:1 to take place in the most boring room of the school, it will help enourmously.
A sloping writing surface, even if its just a lever arch file with the spine away from the child, and let him have the paper at whatever angle he likes. Try getting various coulured acetate films to put over his reading, to tone down the contrast between black and white (my DS says the letters 'wriggle') try out different colours to see what suits best if at all. If that doesn't work try cutting a slot out of a piece of card or paper so that only 1 line of writing shows at once, so that he doesn't get confused and overloaded.
