Why does SENDO want to move sections in EHCP into section C?

I’m suspicious. I have an EHCP i have been nagging the sendo to amend as I need to view adult provisions soon. My sons current provision will stay the same. I had to contact the LA education director.

It has been finally amended and sent to me and I’ve explicitly said I want to sit down with the sendo (who is in annual leave) within the 15 days and on no circumstances should it be published -as I can make the 15 day window but the sendo cannot.

They want a list of my changes. There’s too many to detail , namely where have they got certain statements of my sons ability from?
Some seem to be played down, some not, and moved into different sections.

All special educational needs should be in B and corresponding provision in F.

Some LAs put needs and provision that should be in B and F in C, D, G and H. This is because it is far harder and not always possible to enforce provision in G&H, whereas it is much easier to do so with provision in F. I suspect your LA are trying to move needs to C in an attempt to either now or at a later date move provision from F to G.

When you say DS’s current provision will stay the same do you mean the placement or the SEP? Because once the amended EHCP is finalised that is the legally binding version so if the SEP is changed the provision DS receives may also change.

The placement will stay the same till ds is 18, but I need to view places for when he is 18 and they all want to see his EHCP. Thank you! , I’ll go through and cross ref B and F now and move it back.
