Not sure what the diagnosis will be

My child is six and in a mainstream school with the senco involved. Main issues are:
"zoning out" in class
Difficulty following instructions
Social skills are ok, has confidence but being "in own little world" half the time affects social life.

So many things overlap between autism and adhd and we don't have a diagnosis of anything yet. I would appreciate hearing from other parents if your children struggle with similar things. My child is known for being a daydream but I think it's deeper than that now.

I’m sorry all I can do is say is follow your gut if you believe there’s something fundamentally different about your child and ask the school what they think is the way forward. I’m now in my 60’s but my son was always in his own world at nursery but happy in a one to one though he never played a game with a peer it was always along side. The school decided to get him assessed and from then on was classed as having Dyspraxia Dyscalculia and some kind of developmental problem but now is diagnosed as Asperger. Good luck.
