Autism, ADHD and Iron Defiency

My son is 8yrs and has an Autism and ADHD diagnosis. In the last year or two we've noticed his skin complexion is quite sallow/pale and he can tire easily and although he always denies he's tired it tends to manifest in unregulated behaviour. I've since read there's a link between iron defiency and these conditions that I hadn't been aware of. Just wondered if anyone else has noticed this about their children and whether iron supplements have helped? He's afraid of needles so unsure how easy a blood test would be. Also if a supplement would interact with ADHD meds, am not due to speak to the doctor for a little while but will raise it with her then also.
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
There has been some research done showing improvement in behaviour and concentration in children with ADHD after taking omega 3 fish oils and vitamin supplements. Zinc is considered important.
