Autism and fire obsession

My DD (11) is autistic and has always had special interests, I’ve always supported them because they bring her so much comfort.
However her latest one seems to be fire which for obvious reasons I do not support! Things came to a head today when I left her at home (something she’s done before and managed well) for about 20 minutes. I came back to find she had been burning pasta and cereal on the gas hob, she also found the candles I had hidden and had been playing with the melted wax.

Obviously she now can’t be home alone and all candles, matches etc will be given to family or friends. This is still such a worry though, I’ve never had to deal with stopping and obsession before and we have gas hobs that she knows how to use!

Anyone dealt with this or have any advice?

Would it be worth mentioning to her school? I know we had fire safety talks when we were at school. The fire brigade came in and did talks

Sorry, I don't know if that would help at all.
