ADHD Private wait times

We need to get DS assessed for ADHD. We are very fortunate to have the funds to do so privately. He's in y4 and I want to make sure he's set up for secondary. Waiting 18months on NHS isn't an option.

Can anyone suggest somewhere with short wait times? We would happily travel to get this done. We are in Oxford so central.

To others who have gone private, how quickly were you seen?

Hi OP; we have registered my daughter to be assessed privately and our appointment is at the end of March. They had some earlier slots available, but I had to fit it in around my work. The company we've gone with are ADHD360. They have a clinic in London, but our appointment is going to be via Zoom.

Thank you @Creamcrackersandricecakes that's really positive news. We would ideally like an assessment at the end of March as I'd quite like to initially try meds in the holidays first.

Do you mind me asking :

How much did it cost?
Do you get seen by a pyschologist or a nurse?
Were the face to face appointments a longer wait?

Ideally I'd like a face to face with a clinical pyschologist.

Morning! The initial cost was £170. Once you have a diagnosis you can choose one of their packages, which includes follow-ups and also prescribing any medication, (you have to pay for the actual drugs, but once your child is settled you can apply to your GP for shared care, which enables them to prescribe). I think the package we’re considering is just under £1k.
Our appointment is with an advanced nurse practitioner, I’m not sure if they have any psychologists. I don’t know about f2f appointments, sorry. Might be worth giving them a call? The other company we considered was psychiatry-uk - I believe they use psychiatrists for their consultations, so might be better for you. Good luck!

Thank you ☺️ does your 1k package include the diagnosis?

Yes, that includes the diagnosis and the first year of follow ups.
