EHCP Application

Hi my son 4yo has been diagnosed with ASD he is non verbal and has development delays he currently sees SALT every 3 months and is working with PECS. We also have a EP who we see every 3-4 months.
EP sent a request yo the EYF for a EHCP assessment which they are going to review in Jan.
Just looking for some advice on things they might want to know and how the assessment will progress any advice or info you have will be greatly appreciated as I feel really overwhelmed by everything and would like to be as prepared as possible when the time comes.

Here are the EHCP timescales.

The LA have 6 weeks from the date of the request to inform you whether they are going to assess or not. If they refuse you should appeal, the majority of appeals are upheld. If they do agree to assess the LA must seek advice from:
a) the child’s parent or the young person;
b) educational advice (usually from the head teacher or principal);
c) medical advice and information from a health care professional;
d) psychological advice and information from an educational psychologist;
e) advice and information in relation to social care;
f) advice and information from any other person the local authority thinks appropriate;
g) where the child or young person is in or beyond year 9, advice and information in relation to provision to assist the child or young person in preparation for adulthood and independent living; and
h) advice and information from any person the child’s parent or young person reasonably requests that the local authority seek advice from.

H can include SALT and OT.
