I have long thought my son has ASD and ADHD. Lots of challenging behaviour but he can be so lovely too. Teachers have suggested it too and this year's teacher has suggested we go to his GP about it. I did and they referred to CAMHS. But CAMHS wrote to school to say they can't accept the referral and suggested school does lots of things like refer to an educational psychologist and speech and language. School say this isn't necessary and isn't possible because they can only get an EP for their really high needs children.
What can we do? Has anyone managed to get an ASD or ADHD diagnosis in Ealing for their child? He's 10.
Thank you for any help you can give. I just feel a diagnosis will help him to understand himself and maybe manage his feelings better. I'm also scared of how his behaviour may escalate as he gets older.
