Has anyone here been through the EHCP process? I would love to hear about your experiences.
I'm the founder of Cogs, a social enterprise working to create software for neurodiverse children. We're collaborating with academics from the University of Cambridge's Department of Psychiatry to develop an assessment tool that helps schools and parents screen for special educational needs more easily and quickly than current (frankly terrible) system!
The academics we're collaborating with have already created a brilliant mental health assessment, which uses adaptive testing to transform what is normally an arduous and dispiriting process in a therapist's office into a very quick online questionnaire. We're hoping to create the same for special educational needs.
Before we start we're looking to talk to parents and caregivers (for half an hour over Zoom) who have been through the process. The Mumsnet SEN community seems like a really invaluable source of peer-to-peer advice and we'd love to harness some of that so we can be sure the software is targeting the right things. In return, we'll give you access to our findings, and you'll be able to use the product for free if you have other children still awaiting their EHCP.
If you're interested in participating in an interview, you can book a Zoom call here.
