EHCP - how specific should it be?

Have received draft of DS’s EHCP. Feeling the pressure of time to absorb and feedback on it within the timescale. It is very wordy. It gives a good picture of DS’s struggles. However when it comes to provision that should be put into place I can see that it could be interpreted very differently. Eg some activities say “1-1, small group or whole class as appropriate” - so school class could say whole class is appropriate all the time. Nothing specifies how much 1-1 in terms of time or frequency.

im looking at the plan and thinking if I have to use it to hold the school to account in delivering it is it very clear what they should be measured against.

How specific should it be? Should it state, for example, how many 1-1 hours should be provided or be specific in saying it must be 1-1 support rather than small group.

Any advice would be much appreciated

That isn’t detailed, specific and quantified enough. DS may not receive the provision and there’s nothing you could do to enforce it.

The amount of 1:1 needs quantifying. The 1:1’s qualifications, training and experience needs stating along with the support they will be providing. As appropriate needs removing. Small group needs defining.
Unless section F is detailed, specific and quantified it cannot be enforced.

What are the reports like? Provision in section F is taken from reports, if the report are vague and woolly the EHCP will be too.
