No response from SENCO

Hi, DD has just started year 7 and has an EHCP. This is a first EHCP so to some extent I am unsure what to expect from the school. I had a meeting with the SENCO in early September to go through the EHCP and discuss how it would be put into place. Things like dropping a subject and how the small group interventions stated in the EHCP could be fitted into the school day. Since the meeting nothing has actually changed. She has TA support in most subjects and she uses a laptop. I emailed for an update 2 weeks after the meeting, no reply. I emailed again last week and have not had a response. What am I supposed to do? The EHCP is worded well, it states the interventions that will be put into place, by whom and for how long per week etc.

Is it normal to not get a response from the SENCO? Do I just keep emailing and ask her to reply?

This isn’t acceptable. If the SENCO is ignoring you and the provision in the EHCP isn’t being provided email the headteacher. Also email the LA’s Director of Children’s Services informing them the provision isn’t being provided and if the situation persists you will be forced to begin judicial review proceedings. Then if it carries on contact SOSSEN for help with a pre-action letter.

Thanks, I thought the hard work had been done by getting the EHCP in the first place but it seems not. It's so frustrating.
