EHCP Parental Views

We are currently starting the process to apply for ds with the school's support. I am trying to fill in parental views, but I'm worried I'm not going to put in the right things, so he gets the support both us and the school think he needs. Can anyone give me any ideas of what I should definitely include? Thank you

It’s impossible for anyone here to tell you what you should write because it will depend on DS’s individual needs. Have you looked at IPSEA and SOSSEN? Including their model letters.

Currently appealing refusal to Issue. In my experience the LA don’t care much about your views, the EP report carries the most weight.

For an EHCNA request the LA do look at the parental views as well as any evidence they have. But you’re right for issuing an EHCP it is the advice sought during the EHCNA that is looked at rather than parental opinion.
