Viewing high schools, what to ask?

My dd9 is adhd with autistic traits and lots of emotional issues are now appearing, not sure if that’s a coincidence with her meds kicking it or just age.

anyway, this sept I’m wanting to go see/speak to high schools myself to check out their SEN departments and all the other rules etc that might cause us issues.
The following year I’ll do it with dd9 as a NT child would.

what do I ask? Do I just announce my child is ND and I’m wanting to know how you’ll deal with it?

how did other parents deal with it.

I want her to be in the right place for her where she’ll get the support needed, not just following her friend.

thank you

Speak to the SENCO, briefly explain DD’s needs and support required. Ask what the school currently provides pupil’s with similar needs and what interventions are available.

An in depth discussion of DD’s needs and what support she requires may not be possible at open evenings/open mornings so ask for their email address so you can email them or for a follow up conversation.
