Hi my dd is 2yrs 3mnths and up untill a few days ago had excellent speach for her age and could easily string a sentence or conversation together with no problem. A few days ago she started to stumble over the first words in the sentence as some children do but it has developed further and she can't get out the word I without a couple of attempts and having to close her eyes to form the word. This is the case with the start of a lot of her sentences. Am I being a paranoid parent or is this something that I should watch closely? Not sure if this is the right place to post.

Thanks for any advice, all appreciated

I dont think this is anything to worry about tbh, I think what happens is their little minds are working over time, and they cannot quite keep up with what they a wanting to say. My dd2 also had a stutter for a short time at about the same age as you DD i beleive its quite commom (there has been a couple of threads on BD about it). She was like it for about 6-8 week and after this her speech sort off stepped up a notch IYSWIM.

I would just keep an eye on it and if you are still worried have a chat with your HV.
