Hello mumsnetters
im after some advice. My son is almost certainly Autistic. He is currently on the waiting list which is almost three years. I’m considering paying for a private diagnosis but what I’m struggling to decide is is it with it? How will things change with a diagnosis? My son is a quite capable child but has challenges with his social skills, emotions and anxiety. What I suppose I’m asking is how will things change at school? Will he get additional help? Therapy? School have been quite frankly useless up to this point. Recognises he is SEN and needs assessing but are reluctant and dragging their feet. Any advice would be so helpful. He’s almost 6 btw.
