Hi, was wondering if anyone had any recent experience of Slindon college in West sussex? Some bad reviews in the past but they are rather old now.

Bump! I also would appreciate some feedback. smwilde - we visited recently and got a very food feel. Not being co-ed felt a little dated for my DH. Loved the farm, grounds and facilities too.

I can’t give you any very recent feedback but my son did attend and left a couple of years ago. Unfortunately his experience was not a good one, but obviously everyone has different needs and it may suit some. Factually I can tell you that during his time of five years , there were three different head teachers (and I understand now yet another??) a very high turnover of both staff and pupils….. why???? I never did get to find out who their target audience is as nobody seemed to get their needs met I would say you do need to try and speak to a current parent as I wouldn’t be too taken in by the glossy brochures and the beautiful place. They are great sales people and make you doubt your own sanity My son was in fact a “model” for the last brochure and looks like he was loving it and properly engaged - errr no!! He is much happier and doing much better having left. On the plus side the practical subjects they offer (or did?) are a real benefit to those who are academically challenged or are more creative. I hope this place does get their act together as it has so much potential and there is a real need for this type of place for children that don’t fit mainstream. Sorry I can’t be of more help!!
