Hi, I am a student at University of Birmingham, completing a Masters in Autism (Children) part time, as well as working full-time for a private mental health service. As part of my university assignment, I am conducting a pilot research project into the experiences of parents of autistic children focusing on their awareness of and access to support and services pre- and post-diagnosis, and whether there were any additional areas in which they felt additional support or services would have been of benefit to their child and their family. The aim of the research is to ensure we are delivering or signposting to support and services autistic individuals and their families in our local community actually want.

To do this, I am looking to conduct semi-structured interviews with parents of autistic children under 25 years old that have been diagnosed with autism in the last 5 years that live in the county of Shropshire. All responses will be anonymised to protect the identity of those involved. If you would be interested in participating or would like more information about the research, please do contact me on [email protected]

Many thanks
