Shoes!

My daughter's now a jnr 3 (size 35.5 eu). We have to be careful about shoes - she can't tie laces so needs velcro, she needs flat shoes, not slip ons. I have casual shoes for summer, but I can't find smart, neutral coloured shoes (think smart school shoes but in nude/ivory/white/beige). There are plenty for infants, but not junior sizes, unless you want glitter, and I don't. I've tried Clarkes, M&S, John Lewis, Schuh, and a few of the cheaper shops, and looked in both adult & kids. They all have heels, or are ballerina style. Can anyone suggest anywhere? I'm not too worried about price (within reason) for the right ones.

Can you swap the laces for no tie ones?

Also try an independent shoe shop, we have always found them helpful meeting specific requirements.

We do that with her trainers and casual shoes, but it's smart shoes I need. There are wedding-type bridesmaid shoes, but I don't need anything that posh (and they're all white fabric which won't stay clean for even a day) - somewhere in between. There aren't many independents around us, but I might try to take a look in the posher areas nearby - great idea.

Apologies, your original post made it sound as though you couldn’t find velcro shoes, rather than couldn’t find any shoes.

Do they need to be completely flat like these (if they are formal enough) or would a low heel work like these, these and these with a 1cm heel?
