My son is 8 years old in year3. He has Ehcp in place and goes mainstrschool. He is really good at academics. I am looking for any special schools(which are good for high functioning) out side of or near by london but not in london. He is really struggling with comprehension, communication with his peersand socialising. Please input your valuable suggestions. I am looking for primary, secondary schools. Thanks in advance

There were many good suggestions on your previous threads.

With an EHCP the schools don’t need to be state schools, non-maintained and independent special schools can also be named in section I.

Do we need to pay for non maintained independent schools ? I don't have anyone to suggest. Please guide me through. Struggling to find a school and I don't know how to gi through the process. Can I go through LA or can we apply directly ? Thanks in advance

No, you don’t need to pay if the school is named in section I. The school is named in the EHCP in the same way as a state school is following your AR or early review. Unless the school is wholly independent i.e. not a state school, a non-maintained school or section 41 independent you don’t need an offer of a place.

To find a suitable school start with re-reading the suggestions on your previous threads.
