Experiences of Millfield School for DC with SEN - ADHD Dyslexia

Hi
We are considering a move to Millfield Prep for DC at Year 6 who needs more support for his ADHD and Dyslexia than he is currently getting at his independent academic primary school. He is naturally sporty so I think this side of things would be a good fit.

I would love to hear any experiences and feedback on the SEN support at Millfield Prep & Senior, particularly with regards ADHD / Dyslexia and the approach to managing this in school.

We will be relocating so any info as to where the majority of day pupils live in the surrounding areas would also be helpful. I know the school run a bus service, is this popular with prep families too? Is living in Bath too far?

Many thanks

Interesting. I have 2 friends who have/have had children with SN at Millfield. One with ADHD and ASD - very positive. The other with dyslexia and dyscalculia - very negative. The latter is a recent experience.

From a friend I've heard they are pretty strict, if that's the right word, and some children may do better with a more flexible environment especially if they struggle with impulse control. But I have no direct experience and they are generally happy with the school.

Yes, Bath is much too far. Are you coming from the SE where there are actual real roads? Grin

I would not live any further away than Wells.
