I am trying to access some support and possibly an assessment through school but waiting lists are so long.

Can anyone accessed help privately? And if so does anyone have any recommendations? I’m in Lancashire but I’m happy to travel or do assessments remotely

I can recommend Spectrum North West. Based in Warrington, but some of the assessment was carried out over Zoom. Cost approx £1500.

I have heard the Lorna Wing Foundation are also excellent.

If the person is a female, check whoever does the assessment uses the female diagnostic criteria.

I am in the exact same boat as you for my 6 year old.

I would triple check that whoever you go with will be accepted by the council. My son's teachers weren't sure about all private diagnoses and said you may not get an ECHP from a diagnosis by certain providers. I have been trying to speak to somebody at the SEN team at Kent council for a few days. Good luck!
