NHS ADHD assessment - virtual!

After almost 5 years waiting, we have finally been offered an ADHD assessment. Virtually....
Surely this can't be right? How can such an important diagnosis be done by a nurse on a video call? I simply cannot see how an accurate assessment can be made on this basis.
Does anyone have any thoughts/experience?

Unbelievable isn't it!!
I had the same for an Early Help Assessment back in October 2020.
Told them I didn't own a smart phone, laptop, tablet or computer. (all true except smart phone, as of Xmas lol)
They eventually gave me a f2f after a month of me being 'awkward'.

Can't see how any appointment other then f2f they would be able to see HOW children act, what they're like, etc. to be able to accurately complete their assessment.

Even had one lady try to TELL me to buy an 'inexpensive' tablet, which could also be used for the kids 'learning' or 'TV time'.
Pfffftttt. No thanks. Don't tell me how to raise my kid. 🛑

I think for adhd it’s ok (not ideal) because it’s mostly questions about behavior. Rather than a physical examination.

We have 4 year olds having speech and language assessments and therapy via zoom, great fun with a time lag!
