Our nearly 3 year old has probable ASD and is on the wait list for ados assessment. She recently had her second NHS SALT review and they have assessed her as having severe social and communication delays (it was moderate at the first review in June last year). The appointment was a bit rushed but the therapist suggested trying a communication app on the tablet. So I have mixed thoughts about the app- she tends to interact and attempt to communicate with us far less when she has too much TV or screen time. She would happily sit with the iPad all day if we let her. One of the apps she suggested is called Proloquo2Go and when I took a look it costs £220… So I was wondering if anyone has used this and if they found it helpful. Or if there is something cheaper or free I could try first that anyone could recommend. It seems an awfully big investment in something where I don’t know if it would be a help or a hinderance.
