Changing setting on EHCP (post 16)

OK, so I'm getting ahead of myself here.

DD is currently on a 1 year college course, and we are undergoing an EHCNA at the moment.
If granted we won't have a plan in place until Feb half term.

So, what if current course is OK, but there isn't a suitable follow on course and we want her to go elsewhere next Sept?

We can't wait for the annual review as that would be too late.
But wouldn't know now what she'll need in Sept as would need to see how extra provisions help her and how her MH goes in next 6 months.

or are annual reviews always done in the summer term?
Just realised I assumed they were 1 year after plan approved, whenever that is, but maybe that's not how it is done?

Legally ARs should be held within 12 months of the previous one, or for first ones within 12 months of the EHCP being finalised.

However, when pupils are moving from one post 16 placement to another there are different rules. The EHCP must be finalised at least 5 months in advance of the transfer. The AR must be held early enough for this to happen - typically the term before.

If the EHCP isn’t finalised until February half term there won’t be enough time.
