Just recieved the confirmation report that my 9 year old son has dyslexia.

I have known this in my heart for a long time, however seeing it on paper and having if official is a bit of a shock.

What happens next?
Where do I go from here?

If any one has been here and could give any advice/info, it'd be greatly recieved.

Thank you Smile

Hi OP - did your DS's assessment not include strategies for his education or say in what areas he needed support and how this should be achieved by his school? If not, I would ask the assessor for this info? It is a shock, as a parent, but the assessment should now mean that your DS receives the support to which he is entitled and which he needs, in order to realise his academic potential. I am no authority whatsoever, just the parent of an older dyslexic, but please pm me if you wish? You could also google 'the dyslexic advantage' which you might find interesting and hopefully encouraging.
