Secondary school for ASD son - recommendations please

DS has ASD and is currently in an independent mainstream prep with an EHCP. He's Year 5 so I am looking at secondary school options. He’s performing averagely but struggles with school anxiety and social communication. He is capable of GCSEs but will need support and small classes with staff who understand him.

Looking for recommendations/first hand experience of any independents who support children with ASD in Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire or Bucks. Willing to move to any of these areas for the right school - or even a little further afield if necessary.

Also, does anyone have any feedback/experience of these schools please for ASD (not dyslexic):

Egerton Rothesay
Bruern Abbey
Bredon.

Thank you 😊

Sorry, I can't help with school suggestions, but be aware if you move LA the new LA may amend, reassess or potentially even cease to maintain the EHCP.

Yes you need to be aware of this. I've heard a few accounts from parents moving into different LAs, none of them good. One LA actually tried to dissuade the parents from moving into their area! Shock

Having said that I've heard Swalcliffe Park School in Oxfordshire is good.

Have you looked at Appleford?
