My son has Cerebral Palsy and an EHCP. He’s in Year 10. He’s been forced to take a 10th GCSE - resistant materials. He can’t use his left hand and has always hated technology.

RM is first 2 periods Wednesday and Friday. My son is exhausted with all the other work and I want him to drop RM and go in late every Wednesday and Friday.

Senco is saying no.

Can we just do it anyway?

You are unlikely to get the school to agree unless it is written in the EHCP. They are, however, more likely to agree t dropping RM and spending the time in school on homework/catching up/other skills etc.

If you keep DS home anyway the school will probably mark it as unauthorised.
