Does an ADHD diagnosis help for grammar tests?

We have just heard DD8 (Y4) has met the criteria for full assessment of ADHD by CAHMS (equivalent. I think they're called NFLT now).

The waiting list is 2 years.

We live in Kent and I am thinking about her grammar school tests and applications. She won't be assessed or diagnosed before the tests at the end of Y5. I'm wondering if a private diagnosis would make a difference to the application/test process.

Thanks.

My 16 year old daughter was diagnosed with ADHD last year.

I don't think that a diagnosis would have any sway with admissions etc.

However, a private diagnosis as soon as possible, and starting on medication might make a massive difference to your dc.

In one and a half terms, my dd's predicted GCSE results have gone up by more than two levels, as a result of medication.
