Hi
We have been waiting for my 8 year old testing for just under a year
I got a call
Today to say that tomorrow I will have my phone first screening appointment.
After that they will speak to school & then " might " see him to assess him.
He has just been awarded with ECHP from our council ih mainstream school.
He attends full time school even now.
Could anyone please advice me on what assessment will look like during tier 4 lock down ?
I am soo stressed about it abs I do t think that diagnosing a child online is sufficient.

Many thanks

Hi

My DD's assessment began in June and finished in October.

In June, DH and I had a (speaker phone) ADI with a specialist SALT. This lasted hours and covered DD's development from pregnancy and birth to present day.

In between, a psychologist contacted DD's school. If they could have observed, they would have, however this again had to be done over the telephone.

In October, DD had the ADOS at the hospital. I wasn't allowed in the room and a different SALT and different clinical psychologist were all kitted up, but they did enough games/activities/scenarios/questions to gather evidence.

Finally, with all the paperwork gathered, the paediatrician (that referred initially) and the initial specialist SALT, came together to diagnose.
