Hi, I have a 5 year old boy with suspected Autism. He currently has an Ehcp in place but I'm looking to appeal contents. I have been recommended by SOSSEN to source an independent EP report as LA EP report is poorly written. Can anyone recommend a good Educational Psychologist, preferably someone who has autism experience? I am based in West Midlands.

Hello, I've had a very similar situation with my son. We went to Conatus in Kenilworth, they were amazing. Not cheap I'll be honest but worth it as the school has accepted this diagnosis. Can't recommend them enough. I don't know if I'm allowed to name the specific psychologist my son saw (surname begins with K, a lovely lady). She made him feel at ease (and us).

Thank you for replying.

I tried to book them already but they said they don't do assessments for Ehc Tribunals anymore which is such a shame.

Oh no that's a pity.
If I have any other ideas I'll post back on here for you. I can definitely empathise, we've had hell of a game with DS trying to get him the support he requires. We're in Coventry.

I know all too well about the games they play to delay/prevent the provision your child desperately requires. I hope all is sorted with your DS now? Is he in mainstream or SS? Mine is in mainstream.

Mine is in mainstream, Y3. Well supported thankfully by staff but he has his moments and struggles socially, whilst being academically able. We really struggled from reception to Y2 to get what he needed. Feel free to message me on here to chat as I fully understand!!!

Im glad your DS has has the support he needs now. He sounds just like mine, cognitively able but has social and communication difficulties. I have sent you a DM Smile

If you're on Facebook I'd suggest joining the group Educational Equality. There are lots of personal recommendations for Tribunal Ep's.
