Hello,

I'm looking for story books to help explain the world to my 6 year old ds who has ASD.

Topics that would be helpful:

Bereavement and/ or life stages (he's recently become aware of my mortality and i need a way to reassure him).

Making friends.

Social skills more generally.

Thanks in advance x

My new favourite website in the whole world, is
Autism Little Learners

Seriously genuine and generous American woman who writes / illustrates social stories, and is totally up to date and on top of things.
She has written about a dozen during the last 4 months in response to all the changes in the world, to help children cope with social distancing, people wearing masks, etc etc
She's also written things about bereavement and about family members being ill, etc etc.

There are a few things where occasionally, in the UK, we would use a different word from the US.... I read one the other day about 'Fire Drill' whereas I would say 'Fire Practice' but they really are very, very, very minor things.
She sells a lot of things, but also makes huge amounts of her work available for free for you to download.
