EHCP draft Advice

Hi

I'm hoping to get some advice , as I've just received the draft EHCP for my DS and it's so vague, it hasn't quantified anything and has basically just offered him SALT and mentions tapping Into the local offer and a lot of emphasis on doing " home programmes".

My DS is pre school age but severely autistic , non verbal with sensory issues , behavioural issues ( self Injurious) seizures , restricted diet etc

May seem like a stupid question but I'm still trying to navigate my way through this minefield.. what kind of things should I expect from the EHCP in terms of support for him at nursery and at school?

I feel in at a total disadvantage because of Covid and not being able to visit schools and nurseries which makes it difficult for me to want to name one!

I also wanted to know what kind of things fall into health and social care aspect?

I have booked an advice line appointment at IPSEA for end of June as that's what they had left but
If anyone has any advice it would be grateful appreciated as I feel clueless on the EHCP process.Confused

Thank you!!

Go back to the LA and tell them the EHCP needs to be specific and quantified. If the reports are woolly and vague tell the LA they need to ask the report writers to amend them so the EHCP can be amended.

What is in the EHCP will depend on DS' needs. Make sure all DS' needs are highlighted in B and that each need has provision in section F.

SOS SEN check draft EHCPs.

Anything that educates or trains belongs in F.

This and this link are to SOS SEN's info on EHCP's and the draft. The first one explains what goes in G and H.

This and this are IPSEA's info, including their EHCP checklist. In here explains your question on what goes in section G and H, as well as help on what B and F should include.
