Hi just wondered has anyone had any experience with school doing an anxiety questionnaire with their child, even though child doesn’t have an anxiety disorder.

Ds did the 'spence' anxiety questionniaire and also did a social mapping questionnaire to find out where in school he felt anxious.

Ds does not have a diagnosis of anxiety (camhs refuse to see him) but he has a recent autusm diagnosis and is incredibly anxious about school life.

Is your child anxious about school?

Hello no not really, did the school contact you re the questionnaire? Not sure why they did the questionnaire with him he just mentioned it in passing.

The school told us that they would be doing it with him. They have been pretty useless at supporting him, so I was pleased that they were actually doing something! To be honest all they did with the results was give him some strategies to use to try and help, which he ignored anyway!

Was it just your Ds or was it a whole class thing? Some schools are better at mental health support than others and will do questionnaires with all children. Seems strange though if he doesn't have any anxiety around school.

Not sure how old your Ds is but if you have concerns I would contact his teacher if at primary or form teacher if at secondary to find out why it was done.
