Hello, my ds 9 is out of school atm due to huge violent meltdowns.
Way are waiting for clinical psychology, first appointment next week.
He has dyslexia and possible ADHD autism and his self confidence has fallen off a cliff, he sees himself as stupid and gets very very upset when trying to talk about this.
Any advise from other parents with children who have been through similar.
He is becoming withdrawn and unwilling to attend regular sports clubs etc. He will play with siblings and visitors but this can often end badly.

The violent meltdowns are likely to be because the school is not meeting his needs.

Apply for an EHC Needs assessment.

Information here:

You should be aware though, that many LAs turn down the initial request, then back down when parents appeal.
