Any SENCOs here?

Morning,
Very quick question.
If you are a SENCO, how long would it take to physically apply for an assessment for an EHCP? I don’t mean waiting for the response, just how long to do the initial paperwork if you have the bulk of the evidence in front of you?
Thanks.

If I have all the evidence then the paperwork would take about half a day.

Thank you very much lang.

It would take me a bit longer than this because of gathering everything together and the fact my local LA have launched new even longer paperwork. Maybe 1 day?

Thanks Catwoman. This is good to know.

A solid three days. Minimum. The weight of paperwork for my LA is disgusting.

Thanks Path. The paperwork seems to vary greatly from area to area.

It's usually quicker for the parents to do the application.

If your Senco is part time, shared and gets a couple of EHCP applications at the same time, along with any pressing safeguarding/Ss\CIN meetings, is doing CPD or other it could take many weeks for each one.

Senco is full time and doesn’t teach at all. Although, granted, I believe there is another application going in at the same time.

Our SENCO gets paperwork done ridiculously fast. She's bloody superwoman and I don't know how the heck she does it.

Have I mentioned I think she's flipping awesome?
