IPSEA training on EHCP - best tips?

Basically am in middle of writing an 'ask to assess' to local LA.

It looks to me like at least 3 forms need to be completed by school as they want detailed breakdown of impact of interventions/progress etc

Any tips you have gleaned along the way? I would love to go to IPSEA training but its too far and all my annual leave has been eaten by hospital appointments.

Have any of you been on an IPSEA course, if so anything they told you that gave good insight into how to play the game better? Have heard it often comes down to key words and phrases....

I've been on a few SOS SEN workshops and found them really useful. Also their booklets are good - www.sossen.org/shop/index.php?cPath=22&osCsid=irasf260njhl3rb6c0574j4fv0

Also chapter 9 of the SEND Code of Practice is well worth reading thoroughly.

You don't have to bother too much about the school's forms, the LA should ask for them when it gets the request and/or if it decides to assess.
