Hi, would anyone have any idea of potential interview questions I may be asked for the post of Classroom Assistant (Additional Special Needs) in a special school? Many thanks.

I shall find out tomorrow and get back to you!
Are you already a classroom assistant and moving to ASN or is this a completely new job for you?

Hi, thanks so much for your reply. I'm currently a SEN Classroom Assistant in a mainstream school and hoping to move to a special school. Thanks again.

You'll have a good idea about the classroom assistant type of questions.
In terms of a specific unit the classes are smaller and teaching is very bespoke for each pupil.
The interviews usually focus on inclusion, nurture and managing behaviour. Not controlling behaviour, being proactive using child plans, contributing to child plans and trying out strategies. Supporting teaching staff, teamwork, supporting various pupils with different learning needs. Also take into consideration the wellbeing indicators, shanarri, child protection etc.
it’s good to have knowledge on theories such as attachment, psychosocial and loss and grief.
Make sure you have lots of examples ready about how you have supported teachers and pupils alike.
Hope that helps if I actually get a copy of questions I'll forward them to you.
When is your interview?
