A parent had a great idea and told me that there are no sport sessions for SEN children in the Aylesbury/Stoke Mandeville area and the sessions are always normally well structured. This was great to hear and something we instantly wanted to change. We wanted to create an unorganised, enjoyable and lighthearted sports session that will cater for SEN children.
At Stoke Mandeville, we are looking to organise a free taster/trial session for SEN pre school children. The first session will be on the 31st of January 1-2pm.
This session is designed for you to come along with your children and for them to enjoy the equipment we can provide. As coaches, we know it can be difficult for your child to engage with regular sessions. Therefore, by creating a free play session, we will help facilitate and help engage your children with sport in a lighthearted and open manor.
Please, comment if you have any ideas or suggestions as we are always looking for new ways to improve. You may have a little idea but that could be the start of something special.
