Dropping GCSE subjects

My son, ASD mainstream scored a U in his science mock.

He finds it so stressful and doesn't cope in the lesson - actually he doesn't cope fullstop at school.

Science is a core subject but can it be dropped?

You may still have to go in the lessons but it’s nit compulsory to sit the exam . How old is he ? Due to the fact he’s in mainstream , they may not allow this

He's 15

If your school has a type of inclusion for sen kids would they allow him there for the science period to study other subjects he has a chance of passing ?
