Hello, long time lurker and first time poster here. My DS was diagnosed with autism earlier on this year. He will be starting reception in 2019 and I’m in the process of applying for an EHCP. I have visited a few mainstream schools and held meetings with a couple of Sencos, both of whom have not been very encouraging about the support they can offer my son. I will fight as hard as I can to get the EHCP but in the meantime, can you please give me some suggestions for mainstream schools in Southwark that are good with ASD children? My DS is verbal but with delayed speech, poor social communication skills, a restricted diet and anxiety mainly associated with attending nursery. I’d also appreciate any feedback from parents whose children attend a mainstream school with an ASD provision. Thank you!
