ASD school advice

Hi
Our son has had a diagnosis of ASD. He is hating school at the moment- telling us he has nothing he enjoys there - learning is boring and too easy - too much pressure and too many tests- and social life overwhelming. He’s a creative and very bright boy but isn’t happy. He constantly seems stressed out and negative. He is begging to move schools but I’m in two minds- I don’t want more change to unsettle him as he used to love it there and get a lot of structure and support at school. He has suggested being moved up a year (he likes the teacher better, it’s a smaller class&harder work). Is that even possible? I’m also after experiences of those who’ve moved schools- those who’ve stuck it out- and any fabulous schools in the south.

How old is he?
Is it mainstream school or special or private school ?
Does he have an EHCP ?
