Hi, I was hoping for some advice from the great minds of mumsnetters. My niece has just had a Agree to Assess as she was diagnosed with ASD, sensory processing difficulties and dyslexia. She had a multi agency assessment in which occupational therapy was involved. The bit we are unsure of is she didn’t have a SALT report. I was wondering what sort of provision SALT could suggest for a teenage ASD child with social interaction issues and problems with communicating to peers/ staff. She is a bright girl who can talk about things in detail but struggles to get ideas on paper. She pronounces letters differently (which is partly due to dyslexia I think). I wondered as we were told because she is verbal she wouldn’t need SALT. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated ( have also posted in SN Education section). Thanks in advance.
