Apps to hepp dyslexic children learn to read

Hello,
My DS (age 7) has just been diagnosed with dyslexia. Given the gap between his verbal abilities and his reading / writing / processing ability it seems pretty severe to me...
While I recognise that dyslexia need not be any kind of blocker to future success including academic success I am also conscious that my poor boy needs to learn to read and write which he is finding very challenging.
Does anyone have recommendations for iPad apps that are accessible and help kids with dyslexia? Phonics simply doesn't work for him but I'm struggling to find any whole word reading apps / games that he'll find fun and want to engage with.
Any experience or advice would be really appreciated.
Thanks all.

Spelling shed is good on iPhone. It’s written in dyslexic font.

Also I cannot recommend Nessy enough. It’s brilliant.
