Hi. My DD is about to start Y3 in her prep school, where SEN provision is very weak. We are moving house, and the priorities for where we live next are commutable distance to Reading for my husband, and close proximity to anindependent school with very good SEN provision.
My DD was tested for dyslexia when she was 6Y 9M and very surprisingly she was not found to be dyslectic, despite her teacher, me and an SEN teacher friend of mine all feeling convinced that there is something restricting her learning. She's bright, articulate and very sociable, but her literacy and numeracy are way off where they should be. I'm not necessarily looking for a specialist dyslexia school, but I'd like her to be in an environment where she'll get the 1-2-1 and specialist teaching that she seems to need, to help her to realise her potential. Any input appreciated. Thank you.
