Can I just say that ds's nursery teacher is totally and utterly fab?

She is!

We've had a lot of "ishoos' with ds since he started nursery last year to the point where he now has an IEP and is seen regularly by an Ed Psych. He'll most likely be on the waiting list for OT soon too.

His teacher has been fighting his corner from the start. At first I thought she was looking for problems where there were none. But today I finally realised she's on his side

She and I were writing some Social Stories today for his transition into primary school in August. And she showed me all these little laminated cards with symbols ( I think they're PECs or something like that?)

She was telling me how she'll be in school with him for the first week to ensure the teacher uses these symbols and stories and just to ease the transition. Obviously she'll be there for the other children too, but I just feel that she's rooting for ds to do well.

And the clincher today was that ds wrote his name without copying or prompting for the first time ever today and she seemed as proud as me!

This is a tough time for ds (and us) but I think we're seeing some light at the end of the tunnel

Just chuffed I guess.
